Great experience - driving a tuktuk around Sri Lanka. We rented a tuktuk and drove around Sri Lanka for 9 days. It was such a great experience to drive around by yourself and stop at all the beautiful places. Rocky arranged our AAC permit - which we needed to drive the tuktuk legally - and gave us a driving lesson to get used to the tuktuk. Once we got used to driving the tuktuk, we loved it and I would really recommend it to anyone to explore Sri Lanka by tuktuk!! It's priceless to see the faces of the locals when they see you driving a tuktuk :-)
Motorbike tour Sri Lanka 2016. I rented a Honda Bajaj 250cc. It had about 10000km on the meter when I started. I drove about 1600km going Negombo-Puttalam-Anuradhapura-Mihintale-Habarana-Sigiriya-Polonnaruwa-Kalkudah-Arugam Bay-Haputale-Ohiya-Nuwara Eliya-Tangalle-Mirissa-Bentota-Waskaduwa-Colombo-Negombo. Bike worked like a charm. I even took it to some really small mountain roads near Ohiya where I was driving on the road but it felt more like off-road and some nice muddy dirt tracks here and there (: Nice and light bike that`s easy to drive. Service was great. Busted a mirror, but didn`t have to pay an extra cent... Even the police was nice. Nice country to travel especially with a motorbike (:
Only way to see Sri Lanka. Had an amazing trip around Sri Lanka driving a tuk tuk. Rented it from Rocky and would advise anybody to do the same. He was professional and laid back. The tuks tuks were in good shape and gave you a lesson to get your confidence up. He had all the paperwork for registration and insurance with a professional contract ready to go. Things you should know before coming.....there's a $200 usd deposit plus rental so bring money. To get a license you will need a driver license from your country and go to department of traffic in Colombo(only open Monday-Friday) and pay 10 usd. Then you're set! There's a couple other operators renting tuk tuks in negombo(didn't see many other places in Sri Lanka offering this service) and might be a bit cheaper else where but not much and like I said they were realizable with 24 hour service if anything happens. Don't be shy, do it!
Rocky is amazing. Awesome Sri Lanka by tuk tuk. we decided to visit Sri Lanka and we got the idea to do it by tuk tuk in a blog. We contact directly to Rocky by email some days before going and he gave us all the facilities that you could expect. His business is growing up really well and he takes care of his customers really fine.
